About me

There are times in life that can feel complicated, difficult and too overwhelming to deal with on your own. You may be struggling with feelings of burnout, or a heaviness you’re not fully sure how to explain. Perhaps you’re noticing difficulties in your current relationships or are struggling with an ending such as separation or bereavement. Or maybe you have noticed yourself worrying more than usual and you are experiencing low mood or anxiety.

It may be that you have recognised a specific issue that you would like to explore more or you may have experienced a trauma that you feel unable to move past and would like support to work through it. If you would like to talk someone without worrying about feeling judged, I can help.

Choosing a therapist can be difficult and I understand that starting therapy, particularly for the first time, can feel daunting. I believe that therapy should be collaborative and a process of working through something together to find positive changes that are right for you. It isn't always easy to talk to the people around you; perhaps you would like to talk without worrying about how this impacts the other person, or maybe they are part of the current issue for you. No matter what your reasons are for considering counselling, together we can look at your feelings or your current situation in a safe, confidential space and I will listen to you without judgement or criticism.

I have a particular interest in working with people who are struggling with anxiety or low mood and looking at how this impacts the body. I also have experience supporting people who have experienced childhood trauma and are struggling with the impact of this as an adult and how this may affect other relationships in life.

Please feel free to contact me via email, text or phone for further information.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified and fully insured integrative counsellor and psychotherapist.

My practice philosophy is centred around a relational approach, which is based around my belief that people can use the power of genuine and healthy connection in relationships to heal.

I am trained in a wide range of therapeutic models which I am able to draw upon whilst working with each individual client. Each client is unique and therefore together, we can find an approach that fits best for you.

Above all, my approach is to offer you a a safe, non-judgemental space for you to share your experiences whilst feeling truly heard and understood; some clients find this space healing in itself and I hold the therapeutic relationship between you and I as the most important factor in our work together.

I do not claim to hold all the answers for you, but I will meet with you in a fully accepting, genuine relationship to support you to find your own at a pace that feels right for you.

My qualifications include:

  • PGDip Counselling and Psychotherapy (Level 7)
  • PGCert in Counselling and Interpersonal Skills
  • Psychology with Clinical Psychology BSc

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
