Sophie Corke MSc, PG Dip (BPC, MBACP)
WHAT I CAN HELP WITH.
I am a registered and experienced psychotherapist and can help with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, family issues, and recent or past trauma among other things. I see adults of all ages who need help with a particular area of their lives, or alternatively who might feel that they have lost a sense of direction. It may be that a past trauma has resurfaced, or that they have been struggling for years with issues that will not go away.
WHAT IS PSYCHODYNAMIC PSYCHOTHERAPY?
Psychodynamic psychotherapy helps you move forward through a better understanding of how the present has been shaped by past experiences and relationships. You may keep repeating destructive patterns in your life but not know why. Making sense of the past together can bring relief and help you to move forward with your life.
The relationship with the therapist is central to any therapy, and I aim to build a trusting relationship in which you feel able to talk about things you may never have talked about before. I treat all problems that clients bring with respect and in confidence.
I have a particular interest in relationship issues and issues around family life, whether it is difficulty starting a family, or issues that arise after children are born. I am also particularly experienced in seeing people with a history of childhood abuse and those suffering from loneliness.
