About me

My name is Sonia and I understand how difficult it feels to think about therapy, and to choose a Counsellor. It can feel very confusing and worrying. Try it, its never what we expect it to be. I offer a comfortable, relaxed space where you can explore your feelings without being judged. My role is to work with you to help understand what it is that is troubling you and to help you find ways to work through these troubles.

I have worked for 23 years supporting adults, young people and juveniles and their families within a secure setting.

At the Childrens society I have worked with parents/carers who are experiencing difficulties with their childrens’ emotional well-being and/or challenging behaviour. This has either been in a school setting, one to one, family or group work. I also work in schools with 8 yr to 19 yr olds raising awareness of risky behaviours and promoting healthy relationships.

I have experience counselling for Macmillan Cancer Support in a hospital setting. Supporting those diagnosed with cancer and its treatment or with the loss of a loved.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
