About me
Is feeling low every day making you feel like not bothering? Is everything your doing seem never good enough? There is hope because the truth is that it is hard to see through the fog when we are in this mind space because of what is happening around us in our environment but you don't have to be alone in it. Let me help you move forward in a caring and natured way that will support you even after counselling. My name is Sidonia and I am a trained Counselling Therapist with 14 years experience of Counselling. As a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), I work within the BACP Ethical Framework of Data Protection and Confidentiality
I bring knowledge from both Person-Centred and Psychodynamic Therapy models (Relational Therapy). I help people address their situations in a caring and nurturing way that helps them to develop their skills and understanding their strengths. I am trained with specific clinical tools that help people see the why’s and how’s of relationships problems, Couple Therapy and Family issues.
I also work with Anxiety, Depression, Panic Attacks, Personality Disorder and PTSD (Post-traumatic stress disorder) as well as Family / Relationships. I work transparently and professionally with clinical tools to help my clients address these issues and I do this with a contract of Confidentiality and an understanding of Counselling.
I am passionate about the well-being of others and have spent most of my life learning about the way we think and the why’s and how’s of life. I use tools that change our perceptions of our own thinking broadening the ways our cognitions relate to our subconscious, allowing for further meanings and understandings of the condition or situations we live with.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am registered with BACP and have a HND Diploma (2006) in Person Centred counselling as well as a Level 5 Diploma in Relationship therapy (2019) with CPCAB ( Counselling & Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body).
I have 15 years of experience of working with the above guidelines but most recently gained a further level 5 Diploma with Relate National, specialising in Relationship therapy for Couples and families who are facing issues within their relationships .
I have also worked within a secure unit for young people (9-21) with challenging behaviour as a Group worker for 10 years.
Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
