About me

Do you find it hard to get out of bed, feel anxious in everyday situations or find yourself worrying about what people may think of you? As someone who has suffered from mixed depressive and anxiety episodes, I can emphasise with how debilitating and disrupting this may feel to every aspect of your daily life.

I am a person-centred, experiential therapist based on St. Ann’s Square in Manchester. Although I am predominantly from a person -centred background I appreciate that sometimes clients want some form of direction and guidance. Each of us are unique and so I tailor my approach to your specific needs, offering techniques from different models to benefit you. My experience working with clients from all walks of life spreads across the private, EAP and NHS sector.

How I can help you

My approach to therapy will offer you a non-judgemental space where I aim to facilitate a deeper understanding of you in the ‘here and now’. This way we can explore any past or current experiences you feel may be holding you back, help you acknowledge and make sense of them in order for you to move forward. I will help you achieve growth by accessing your emotions and feelings as the answers often lie beyond our cognitions. I also work to create a stabilising environment for clients with trauma-based life experiences.

I believe learning to recognise and understand feelings, emotions and thought processes can help identify unhealthy patterns for managing distress. This is the key to gaining new perspectives and finding more effective ways of living a more balanced life - emotionally, psychologically, socially, and physically.

There is no easy way to work through difficult experiences we’ve picked up along the way, however I am here to walk alongside you on your journey. By exploring all the parts of you and chipping away little by little you will gradually regain a sense of self and feel the changes in you.

Difficulties I can help with

I work with clients presenting with a range of mental health difficulties from moderate/severe anxiety and depression that may stem from stress, multiple trauma, loss, suicidal ideation, abuse, family difficulties, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem and confidence issues.

I offer sessions Monday – Thursday, daytime and evenings and Saturday mornings.

I offer both, open-ended (unlimited number of sessions, 12+) and short-term (8-12 weeks) therapeutic interventions to suit your needs.

What to do next

Before we have our first therapy session, I will arrange for an initial consultation at your convenience. This is a great opportunity for us to discuss your needs in more detail, assess whether my approach is the best fit for you, and if not look at signposting to better assist your needs.

The initial consultation is FREE and takes up to 20-30 minutes.

You can contact me in different ways:

  1. Drop me an email
  2. Use my enquiry forms on my website
  3. Chat with me via my WhatsApp conversation starter (access via my website)

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
