I am a qualified Humanistic Integrative Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. Being an integrative counsellor means I have studied many different approaches to counselling and psychotherapy, including the Person-centred approach, Gestalt therapy, Transactional Analysis, CBT and Psychodynamic therapy. I use all of these approaches as a toolbox to help clients to understand their thoughts, feelings and patterns. I am experienced in working with OCD, panic attacks, generalised anxiety, depression, work stress, relationship issues, conflict management, low self-esteem, intrusive thoughts and grief and loss.
I don't believe counselling is a 'quick fix', rather it is a journey which will challenge you. However, as opposed to a sticking plaster, the payoff can provide you with long term insight, joy, understanding, calmness and inner strength. It is an investment of time and money in yourself, which you may or may not at this point feel you deserve.
The therapy hour last 50 minutes. This is your space and you can bring whatever you choose. All feelings and ideas are acceptable in the room and everything is confidential. Therapy moves at your pace and it is also your decision when to end therapy. I hope to help you to shift things in your world, find your own answers, your own self-acceptance and if needed, gain more control and autonomy back into your life.
I understand how daunting it can be speaking to a virtual stranger, therefore I aim for a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I believe it is important to feel comfortable in the room with your therapist. Feel free to get in touch with me to discuss your issues further or to set up an initial consultation.
