About me

Hi, thank you for visiting here and a warm welcome.

I work with clients within the NHS and in private practice, which includes working with specific issues. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the British Psychological Society (BPS). I am also currently completing my doctorate research in one of my specialist areas. In my private practice, I work with different issues and problems, including anxiety and depression; self-esteem and confidence problems; relationship challenges, including work colleagues, family, and romantic relationships; spiritual issues; psychological and emotional abuse, narcissistic abuse; grief and loss; as well as past/current traumas. I offer an empathic and comfortable space where we will work with matters you want to understand and/or change and live a more content and balanced life. I use an integrative approach that combines multiple therapeutic approaches (e.g., psychodynamic, mindfulness, CBT, compassion-focused therapy, and person-centred), and this will depend on your presenting matters and who you are as an individual.

I am passionate about and advocate for empowering individuals to break free from possible unconscious/conscious emotional and psychological constraints that may have held them back from their potential growth. I strongly believe we possess our own key(s) to unlocking the limitations that hinder us from realising our deepest desires and highest potential. Therapy work can involve self-reflection and self-questioning to uncover our true selves. This journey may involve discomfort, but knowing your goals are achievable is hugely empowering.

Sessions

Our sessions are 50 minutes long and usually happen weekly, though sometimes every two weeks, based on your objectives and needs. The therapy can be short or long-term, whichever is best for you. I also offer a complimentary 20-minute initial online consultation to discuss your needs, goals, and questions. If you feel it's the right fit, we can discuss working together as your therapist and starting your healing journey. Please feel free to ask me any other questions - I typically respond within 48 hours.

Current and past reviews (verified on TrustPilot /Therapy Simrit Singh/Harley Therapy Platform):

CR: "I am a GP Trainee, and when I first started seeing Simrit, I was off work with burnout, anxiety, and depression. At the time, I was struggling with suicidal thoughts and a very low mood, and it felt like there was no light at the end of the tunnel. Now, after 9 months of therapy with Simrit, I can honestly say that the sessions have been absolutely instrumental in my recovery. From the very beginning, Simrit created a safe and understanding space where I could truly open up. The work we've done together—exploring relationships in my life (both current and historical), examining what is important to me, understanding my identity, and setting boundaries—has been invaluable in helping me heal. I’m now back at work and feel more confident than ever that the changes in my mindset and behaviours will provide a strong and sustainable foundation moving forward. I can talk to Simrit about anything, and she is always non-judgmental, offering both validation and support in ways that have made a huge difference. Simrit’s approach has been nothing short of transformative, I can't quite put into words how grateful I am to have her as a therapist. If you're looking for someone who is truly invested in your well-being and can guide you through difficult times, I highly recommend her".

Mrs KT:"I can't recommend Simrit highly enough.  I was dubious about having a therapist but realised that despite reading an array of self-help books, I was still struggling to deal with life, so I took the step to work with a therapist.  Simrit helped me navigate and understand the impact of narcissism and a neglectful upbringing on my life. Growing up in a difficult home environment left me feeling anxious, fearful, always guilty and constantly worrying. Through our sessions, she helped me make sense of my upbringing and how it shaped me as an adult; this has given me the tools to understand how I can learn to enjoy life more and let go of the past.  It is a continuous journey, but I now feel strong enough to deal with what comes my way.  Her compassionate and non-judgmental approach made it easy for me to open up about everything, even the most difficult topics. I always felt heard, understood, and supported".

Mrs. MKS:"Simrit is great! In the last 6 months, she has shown herself to be the most thoughtful, patient, knowledgeable and kind therapist I have found in the last 25 years. And that is how long I have been searching for someone with the ability to make me feel heard AND understood. She helps me problem-solve and seems genuinely eager to help me find the best way for me to help myself."

Ms. AS:"I have had sessions with Simrit for a while now, and it has been the most incredible guidance. I've had therapy for years; however, this is the first time I am really noticing differences in my mental health. She is patient and creates a space that is so safe, warm and welcoming. Her guidance is invaluable, but most of all, it's loving and understanding. I could not recommend her highly enough!"

Mrs. SM:"I can completely recommend Simrit Singh. She is so reassuring and empathetic and takes your hand to gently lead you out of the confusion and darkness of anxiety and depression. She has helped me accept my familial relationships are toxic and damaging and that there is nothing to feel guilty about when you walk away. It was one of the hardest things I had to do and she walked with me all the way. Truly one of the best people I've ever met and definitely one of life's guardian angels."

Mr. JG:"I have been working with Simrit Singh and from day one I have been made to feel comfortable with everything I have spoken to her about. Not only will she listen, but she helps so much with how to deal with my narcissistic relationship. In a short amount of time, I have learned so much. I feel that without Simrit, I would still be in a much darker place. I would fully recommend Simrit to anyone dealing with or leaving abusive relationships and especially dealing with narcissistic relationships."

Ms J.H: "A poem for my therapist: I feel like I've known my therapist forever. My burdens become light as a feather. When I have therapy with Simrit Singh, I find wind beneath my wing, lifting me up and no longer down. Time for me to fix my crown. Simrit is a lovely lady with an open heart. I knew she could help me from the start. She pulled me from a very dark place. She saw the pain in my face. She understands me."

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
