About me

I am an Accredited member of the National Counselling Society number SS00P07 MNCS (ACC) and abide by the code of ethics as laid down by the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). I am also a member of the EMDR Association UK and Ireland.

I work integratively with counselling, hypnotherapy, EFT, Auricular Acupuncture and EMDR as required, as part of a holistic approach to treatment. The balance may vary depending on the client and the presenting issues, and am quite happy to work with one or the other if you 'the client' prefer. However, they are all complimentary to each other and can enhance the therapeutic process greatly when combined.

I am also interested in gut health and food for medicine, yoga and meditation as resources for well being and self-healing to support your therapeutic process.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an experienced counsellor accredited with NCS with 13 years of therapeutic practice experience. I have primarily worked in a drug and alcohol oriented therapeutic role (12 step treatment) but within that, I have encountered a wide range of problems and challenges that individuals meet in life.

I hold Diplomas in Hypnotherapy, Counselling & Psychotherapy and an Advanced Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy accredited with the Royal College of Nursing. I have a Post Graduate Certificate in Emotional Education via Derby University. I have trained in EFT Emotional Freedom Technique and more recently in 2018 NADA Auricular Acupuncture and EMDR Eye movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing.  I am about to start (Oct 2019) a UKCP accredited MSc in Integrated Psychotherapy with the Metanoia Institute in London.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
