In seven years of private practice, I have sat with clients who are experiencing many different life challenges including my specialisms of working with hearing parents of Deaf children and Deaf individuals of all ages; supporting individuals and couples encountering the Autistic Spectrum and individuals experiencing the effects of Dyslexia. Contact me if this is you, I would like to hear from you so that we can look at how we can work together.
My interest in counselling goes back thirty years when I experienced how effective therapy can be. I learned how liberating it is for an individual to have the time and space to express anything they want in a safe and confidential setting. This influences my approach today and I aim to always offer the same experience to you.
Since qualifying I have enjoyed continuing my professional development, fostering and increasing my skills, knowledge and experience. Over the years this has included Creative and Therapeutic play, Animal Assisted Therapy and British Sign Language as well as workshops designed to develop skills for Walk and Talk Therapy, Working with Ruptured Relationships, Safeguarding, Autism and other neurological strengths.
I have a good deal of experience working with children, young people and adults with various life challenges from different cultures and genders.
I am warm with a personal approach. My focus is on meeting your goals by working in a compassionate and accepting manner enabling you to explore your values and beliefs. Working this way enables you to help yourself, giving you a voice where you may have felt you had none.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
