I am a Clinical Psychologist. I specialise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) but will personalise the therapy to meet your needs and preferences. I draw on the principles and techniques of a range of evidence-based therapies such as ACT, Mindfulness, Compassion Focused Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) and Schema Therapy.
I work with clients on a range of issues including anxiety, panic, worry, stress, managing the impact of the past including traumatic experiences, depersonalisation, unusual experiences such as hearing voices or having worries about other people, feelings of disconnection or dissatisfaction, difficulties with alcohol or drugs, problems in relationships or interpersonal difficulties, guilt and shame.
Most importantly, I focus on building a trusting and collaborative relationship with my clients. I will help you to see your existing strengths and for you to gain an in-depth understanding of the areas of your life you are having difficulty with. We will then work collaboratively to develop strategies to help you overcome what ever it is that brought you to therapy and to ensure your future wellbeing.
I know it is sometimes difficult making the decision to see a psychologist. I would be happy to have an initial, no obligation, chat with you over the phone, to hear a little about why you are seeking psychology, to explain the way that I work and to see if we would be a good fit.
