About me

About me and my work

My work with adults and teenagers has covered many areas such as depression, anxiety, self harm, relationships, work stresses, and sexual and emotional abuse. Even if you are seeking counselling for a specific issue e.g. bereavement, stress or lack of confidence - nobody else will experience it exactly the way you do. This is why I work with each client to understand them and their lives from their own viewpoint or frame of reference. I offer an inclusive practice that is respectful of your identity, culture, beliefs and personal choices. I am an LGBTQ+ affirmative, Sex positive, Chemsex aware and Sex worker aware therapist and I consistently strive to help clients understand and accept their own unique and individual place in the world in order to make the decisions and choices that are right for them.

I am an experienced Young Persons Counsellor and have previously worked in a Secondary School. I have supported teenagers through many difficulties such as bullying, abuse, assault, sexuality, self esteem and family issues.

I am also passionate about supporting those with Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) and other menstrual related issues as well as those suffering from Chronic illness such as Chronic fatigue syndrome, Endometriosis and Fibromyalgia.

I understand that it can sometimes be difficult to talk about the issues we face, especially if we have kept them to ourselves for a long time. For this reason, I work with you at your own pace and this gives you an opportunity be in control of the counselling process which in turn can empower you to make choices about the rest of your life with confidence

Couples Counselling

Every relationship has its own story and so do the two people who make up that partnership. In couples therapy I will work with you both to facilitate better communication and understanding in order for you to reach your relationship goals. Sometimes it can be hard to see how the damage in a relationship can be repaired but with the help of counselling it can often be possible for your love and commitment to be renewed if both partners are willing to make that effort.

Where to see me

I see clients at my room on Tring High Street and in Aylesbury Town Centre. Both of these locations are easily accessible by Public transport. You can also have counselling sessions with me Online by Video, Live Chat or Email.

Online counselling

If visiting me in person isn't practical I offer counselling sessions online by Video or by Live Chat message or Email. Please see the online Counselling page of my website for more information.

“When the other person is hurting, confused, troubled, anxious, alienated, terrified; or when he or she is doubtful of self-worth, uncertain as to identity, then understanding is called for. The gentle and sensitive companionship of an empathic stance… provides illumination and healing. In such situations deep understanding is, I believe, the most precious gift one can give to another.” ― Carl R. Rogers, Founder of Person Centred therapy

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
