About me
I offer a private specialist psychotherapy service based in Mansfield covering the areas Newark, Nottingham, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Leicestershire. I also continue to proudly work for the NHS where I have 38 years experience of working as a Principal Adult Psychotherapist and Mental Health Nurse. This has given me a wealth of insights, knowledge and experience in working with a wide variety of mental health issues.
I have a warm, friendly manner and provide a supportive and explorative therapeutic relationship. I understand how difficult it can be to open up about distressing, difficult issues that we often try hard to suppress, and therefore finding the right therapist to explore these issues with is really important. I can offer you a safe, confidential environment to work through these difficulties, tailoring therapy to your individual need.
Psychotherapy and Counselling allows us to explore experiences from your past, perhaps from your childhood or more recent events and relationships, which might be troubling and painful to you. Psychotherapy can help to gain new insights and understanding and achieve ways to improve mental health and wellbeing.
I offer Psychotherapy and Counselling appointments to both individuals and couples. Appointments are 1 hour in duration with the first assessment appointment lasting 90 minutes. Psychotherapy sessions may take place over short or long term periods depending on individual needs.
I have significant experience and interests in working with:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Bereavement
- Eating disorders
- Self Harm
- Sexual Abuse (in childhood or more recently for both men and women)
- Personality Disorders
- Sexuality
- Gender
- Psycho-Sexual
