About me

As a Counselling Psychologist with 16 years of experience, I specialise in supporting individuals facing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and relationship issues. I also provide support to those with neurodiverse needs, including those with autism and ADHD. My approach is trauma-informed, ensuring that every session acknowledges and respects your unique experiences. It takes courage to acknowledge and address what we truly need, and I'm here to support you on your journey towards emotional well-being and healing. Whether you're struggling with life's pressures or navigating difficult relationships, I offer a safe and empathetic space to explore and work through your concerns. Let’s take the first step towards a healthier, more fulfilling life for you.

I have extensive experience supporting children, young people, and adults of all ages with complex mental health challenges over many years within the NHS. During this time, I have worked with a diverse range of clients, providing tailored interventions and care for a variety of mental health conditions. I bring a compassionate, trauma-informed approach to my practice. My specialist training includes accreditation as an EMDR practitioner for both children and adults, offering effective therapy for trauma recovery. As an advanced Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) Practitioner, I focus on supporting the family system, particularly in challenging situations involving children. I also offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), an effective evidence-based approach. Additionally, I offer clinical supervision for professionals across various disciplines, helping therapists at all levels refine their skills and enhance their practice. I provide Mental Health Workshops tailored for businesses and organizations to support employee well-being.

At the core of my practice is the belief that the therapeutic relationship is central to effective therapy. I will work closely with you to build trust, increase self-awareness, and develop a deeper understanding of the emotional factors impacting your well-being.

I am AXA PPP recognised.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, having qualified in 2009. My extensive training includes person-centred therapy, psychodynamic therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), and integrative approaches. Since becoming a Practitioner Psychologist, I have specialised in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) therapy, achieving full accreditation with both adults and children more than five years ago. Additionally, I am a certified Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) Practitioner, trained by Partnership Projects.

As an accredited Supervisor with the Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors (RAPPS), I offer individual and group supervision to clinical psychologists, counselling psychologists, and other professionals. Over the years, I have delivered teaching and training on a variety of psychological topics, including attachment, trauma, and compassionate leadership, to professionals, businesses, and mental health organisations.

My professional background includes leadership roles in the NHS, charitable organisations, and the private sector, where I have honed my skills in team management and service development. I have gained diverse experience across a variety of therapeutic settings across the West Midlands. In these settings, I have conducted psychological assessments, developed formulations, and provided evidence-based interventions for adults, children, and families facing complex mental health challenges, trauma, attachment issues, loss, and more.

I believe in the uniqueness of each individual and ensure my approach is tailored to your specific needs, taking into account your diversity, cultural, religious, and ethnic background.

I am fully registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), adhering to their Ethical Code of Conduct and maintaining compliance with the Data Protection Act. I am committed to my ongoing professional development and receive regular clinical supervision to ensure the highest standards of care.
