Sian Williams MBACP, MSc
We all have challenges in our lives and most of the time we manage them through our own resources. There are times however, when we feel we need to try something different and this is where counselling can help.
As a counsellor, I offer you the opportunity to explore anything in a warm, non-judgemental, supportive environment. Together we will build a trusting relationship based upon respect, honesty and understanding.
In doing this I believe counselling can help in making sense of your thoughts and feelings, provide an opportunity to view or manage issues differently, learn something new and grow in self-awareness. Providing a space where you can feel safe, supported and able to focus.
I am a humanistic counsellor and believe the relationship between counsellor and client is the most important factor in enabling change. I work flexibly and draw on a wide range of ideas to accommodate individual’s needs. With that, each relationship is different so letting you know exactly what to expect can be hard. I think the best way to get a true sense of what to expect is to talk, so I welcome all enquires where we can look at what you want and need in more detail and decide if that is something we can achieve together or look at alternative options.
I have worked extensively with young people and clients who find the idea of talking to someone they don’t know and trust difficult. If it’s easier for you, I would be happy to arrange initial appointments over text or email, and discuss various options that can make the idea of sitting with someone for an hour more comfortable.
