About me

I am an Integrative and relational Psychotherapeutic counsellor offering brief or open-ending counselling. I have been trained in a number of different types of therapy, which means I put our relationship as central to our work, so you can feel safe to explore what brings you to counselling. I attune my approach to you and I am most influenced by Person-centred, Psychodynamic, Internal Family Systems & Body Psychotherapy.

I work with most areas of psychological struggle that result in us feeling ill at ease in the world, anxious, depressed, or stuck in grief. However,  my specialist areas of experience include pre and postnatal anxiety and depression and social anxiety. I  am also very interested in how mental health affects our physical wellbeing.

Whether you are curious to understand yourself and your behaviour in more depth, or in a place of despair, counselling can offer a safe space to be seen, heard, and understood. Together we can explore and understand feelings perhaps too confusing, conflicting, or overwhelming to do so alone.

As we build our relationship and you feel safer to explore difficult issues, energy and space can be restored to grow new more satisfying and authentic ways of being with ourselves, others and our experiences.

I offer a warm, safe, robust, and at times, with compassion and humour, a gently challenging environment to explore your feelings, in a holding and non-judgemental way. We can grow and change and find new ways of functioning in the world that serve us more fully than perhaps outdated ways of thinking about ourselves and the world. I offer a space to explore how to grow when we have become stuck.

So whether you are struggling to function or hiding your pain, I am able to offer a safe space either online, (in-person in my private practice room - when lockdown is over) or outdoors for 'Walk and Talk' counselling. Please get in contact or look at my website for more details...

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
