About me

At times we can all feel broken and alone. Events may have brought you to a point in which you feel you are spiralling in a whirlpool of shame, loss, and worthlessness. You may feel trapped by flashbacks and anxiety - doubting your own ability to move forward and break free of your isolation and self-doubt; stuck in a cycle of ‘should have, could have and if only I had …. I would be ok’?

At times the safe cocoon of our duvet can feel like the safest place to retreat, to hide from the world and our own thoughts and block out the pain which you have worked so hard to push down, maybe even for years. In effect you are surviving and not thriving, and your search here suggests it is not enough for you any more - Thank you for that courage and belief in yourself!

I would love the opportunity to work with you to develop strategies enabling you to understand and manage your feelings which will enable us to explore and process what led to your stuckness so you can move beyond surviving and into what you deserve – thriving!

I listen to your story, ask questions and try to understand what life means for you. My approach is influenced by empathy and acceptance.

I understand that committing to therapy takes courage. I work in person via walking therapy and online and telephone, which gives me flexibility and availability as well as allowing you to access therapy in your own safe space.

If you are interested in therapy with me, please get in touch via email, text message or phone call to arrange a free 30-minute online call where you can briefly explain your situation and ask any questions you may have to see if we are a good fit.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I work in a Person-centred way which means that your needs and goals are at the centre of the work we do together. The pace is set by you.

I work online or via telephone and it is important to me that we can form a safe and trusting working relationship, allowing you the time and space that you need to get the best out of therapy. I believe you are the expert on you and so the work we do together will be based on what you bring to the session and will be guided by your needs. I won’t tell you what to do, but I will listen, see and accept all that you bring and work with you to find a path that meets your needs.

I also offer walking therapy where we meet in an agreed place and therapy takes place as we walk side-by- side, where we can utilise the calmness of nature to inspire self-awareness and growth.
