About me

"Life has no meaning a priori ... It is up to you to give it a meaning, and value is nothing but the meaning that you choose". Jean-Paul Sartre

Hello. My name is Shokouh.

I am an experienced BACP registered clinical psychotherapist, offering counselling and psychotherapy on a short and long-term therapy, depending on the individuals need. My specialities are working with trauma, post trauma stress disorder (PTSD), immigration issues, anxiety, difficult relationships, addiction, feelings of depression, low self-esteem, breavement, eating disorder and workplace problems. I provide clients with a confidential, warm, empathic and non-judgemental space to talk about the difficulties they are experiencing and help overcome them.

My experience and training have enabled me to develop expertise in various treatment models. As an integrative counsellor, I am able to draw on different approaches and techniques that suit the person you are and the issues that you are presented with.

I see the client as a unique individual, living within a wider context of community, society, culture and world. We each have our struggles, dilemmas, painful memories and anxieties, but we also have the potential to change at least how we deal with them and relate to them. Counselling and psychotherapy provide opportunities for you to talk about issues of concern to you, to explore your feelings, values and life choices, to increase your awareness and to expand your repertoire of ways of viewing and relating to yourself, others and the world.

I have worked in a variety of settings including Mind, the voluntary sector, specialist hospital psychotherapy services and privately.

I am within a short distance from the tube station.

  • MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Regents University of London
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling including   Psychodynamic, Humanistic and Existential approaches from Regents University of London
  • Diploma in Psychodynamic from University of Hertfordshire

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.
