Shieva Alipour MA Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist MBACP
Having worked with children, adolescents, and adults, I feel privileged and humbled by the work clients are willing to do that requires great strength and bravery. I am integrative in my approach and use the arts for people who like to explore their experiences creatively using clay, drawing and sand tray.
How I work
I see children, adolescents, and adults in my private practice at Maidenhead. I also work as a self-employed school creative arts therapist and it would be possible to see your child or young person, by arrangement, at their school. I travel within 25 miles of Maidenhead. I am DBS checked and have Professional Indemnity Insurance.
I believe it is the client who makes the changes by coming to a greater understanding of themselves. I provide a non-judgemental, confidential, empathetic and a safe space where your exploration can lead you to trust your wisdom and to find your compass. I see my role as a facilitator to help you through life's difficulties and to help you find solutions that work for you.
I am integrative in my approach with a particular interest in psychodynamics approach in understanding the unconscious motivations, expressive arts to go deeper than the left brain reasoning of the conscious mind, neuroscience explaining how the brain's development is affected by the environment we are brought up in and how it changes through reflection and meditation, attachment in childhood and how it influences relationships throughout our lives, and being stuck in trauma.
I offer long-term therapy and short-term solution-focused counselling. The initial session involves us meeting and finding out what the issue is and how I can help. The sessions are 50 minutes.
I charge £60 per 50-minute session.
Concession rates are available.

My experience as a school counselor, in primary and secondary schools, and as a volunteer counselor with Place2b and a local charity organisation, has been with children who suffer from a range of emotional issues such as;
Separation and divorce
looked after and fostered children
With adults, I have worked with parents whose lives have been difficult, who have needed a space to talk about their present difficulties and their childhood. My aim has been to help them process their childhood and on reflecting on their past they then could, perhaps, be more able to help themselves and their children.
