Dr Shelley Gait (CPsychol, PsychD, DipSW, BSc)
Iwood Manor Lodge Therapy Rooms
I am a qualified Counselling Psychologist and Chartered member of the British Psychological Society (253300) and registered psychology practitioner with the Health and Care Professional Council (PLY34668). My initial training was in Relational Psychodynamic Therapy, CBT and Systemic therapy, which I integrate using a relational integrative approach. I am also particularly interested in Existential psychotherapy, and I am a member of the Society for Existential Analysis.
My main aim is to facilitate a safe space and therapeutic relationship, where you can begin to voice and explore your own experience in the world. This means I try not to impose my own perspective but instead try to understand yours. I believe psychotherapy can help you to develop insight, meaning and awareness, which can then lead to the possibility of acceptance and change.
