About me
Hello and welcome to my profile, I am Sheila a qualified Intergrative humanistic counsellor. Taking the step to begin therapy is a brave and empowering choice. It's often the first move toward understanding yourself more deeply, healing emotional wounds, and creating meaningful change. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply curious about your inner world, I'm here to support you as you navigate your own journey of self discovery and growth.
I work from an integrated humanistic approach which means I work in a flexible and collaborative way, drawing on different approaches to suit your unique needs. At the core of my practice is a humanistic perspective - a holistic and compassionate way of working that looks at the whole person, not just the problem. Together we'll explore your thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and relationships in context, rather than in isolation. This way of working is designed to support you in developing greater self-awareness, clarity, and emotional resilience.
Humanistic therapy places the relationship at the heart of the work. I offer a warm, non-judgmental space grounded in empathy and unconditional positive regard, where you can explore what's going on for you at your own pace. In this space, you're invited to show up just as you are and from there, we can begin to gently explore the patterns experiences and questions that matter to you, through this process, you can begin to reconnect with your values, gain a clearer understanding of yourself, a move towards lasting personal change.
In our sessions, I aim to foster a genuine, trusting connection where you feel safe to express yourself openly and honestly. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, life transitions, or just want to better understand your patterns and emotions. I can offer you a space to be heard and supported to help you make sense of your experiences and find a path forward that feels more aligned with who you are. You don't need to have all the answers before you start therapy. Just a willingness to begin. If this sounds like the right fit for you, feel free to reach out- I'd be glad to hear from you.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
