Dr Shehnaz Rasul (Child & Adult Clinical Psychologist, HCPC Reg.)
I offer psychological therapy to children aged 5 and over, adolescents and adults.
I am currently working ONLINE via videoconferencing using platforms such as Zoom due to restrictions because of the Coronavirus Pandemic.
I believe in working with my clients to tailor treatment to their individual needs in a compassionate, safe and supportive way. I aim to ensure a warm and understanding approach to clients and their difficulties. I have helped my clients overcome a wide variety of conditions including for example; stress, depression, anxiety problems, obsessions, phobias, as well as stressful adjustments and traumatic life events. I am also passionate about helping young people with additional issues to those above such as behavioural issues, exam stress, difficult life events and bullying and bring experience in treating these difficulties from my time working in CAMHS.
My therapeutic expertise and interests include assessment and treatment using a range of psychological therapies, which will be tailored to each clients particular needs. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Schema Focused Therapy. She may also integrate elements of Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Analytical Therapy (CAT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and approaches based on Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Most recently, I have been working with adults who have long-term, complex and multiple physical and mental health needs within the inpatient setting.

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
