Sheena Taylor UKCP Registered
Hello and welcome. I'm an Integrative Psychotherapist and I offer a confidential Therapy Service in Inverness for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, low self esteem , trauma and abuse, work and relationship problems and many other psychological issues. If you are experiencing emotional difficulties and wonder if therapy can help, I offer a safe space where you can explore the issues in depth.
How Can Therapy Benefit You?
When you are experiencing difficulties and feel stuck or overwhelmed, therapy can help you to gain a new perspective on whatever is troubling you. The aim of the therapeutic process is to help you understand and accept yourself, draw upon your own strengths and coping resources and develop a more effective way of responding to life. Generally counselling is more short term with a focus being on current problems, whereas psychotherapy tends to involve exploring underlying issues and unresolved conflicts.
People come to therapy for many different reasons and it's very important that you feel comfortable with the therapist's approach and way of working. My approach is Integrative which means that I draw from a number of therapeutic modalities, particularly psychodynamic, humanistic and transpersonal. Building a trusting relationship and honouring your individual needs is central to my way of working. In our sessions you will have an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of your feelings, work through unresolved issues and find meaning within your experiences. The therapeutic process can enable you to start making changes, which will bring greater balance and fulfilment to your life.
What to Expect in the Initial Session
The initial session gives us an opportunity to meet, to explore in more depth the nature of the difficulties you may be experiencing and to get a sense of whether it is going to be helpful for us to work together. You will also have an opportunity to ask questions.
As a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist I work within a strict code of Ethics and Professional Practice. All sessions are held in complete confidence.
Embarking upon therapy and choosing a therapist can often seem like a big step. If you have a specific question that you would like to ask or an issue that you would like to discuss in confidence, please do not hesitate to call me or send an email. Alternatively, you can visit my website for more information: www.healingconnections.com
