About me

I am a senior psychotherapist and accredited member of the UKCP & CCPE providing online CBT and intergartive psychotherapy and counselling for people struggling with a wide range of concerns, including general anxiety, depression, phobia and stress.

If you are reading this, you may have reached a low point in your life. You may be finding it hard to cope but you do not want to, or cannot discuss the difficulties you are experiencing with family or friends. That is understandable and perfectly normal because people who know you well can find it difficult to be objective. Where as counselling offers the freedom and opportunity to explore feelings and fears that are troubling you in a professional, non-judgemental, confidential working relationship. By taking the brave step of considering counselling, the process of change has already begun.

The Covid-19 Global Pandemic has changed the way we live and work for some time to come. Never before has there been a more appropriate time to seek safe, online counselling & psychotherapy with an experienced practitioner.

About Online Psychotherapy & Counselling:

I began using an online platform for psychotherapy & counselling out of necessity 13 years ago while supervising aid workers in remote regions of the world. The success rate was a revelation to me, it was both modern and affective and I loved it. I've worked online ever since.
Online therapy is modern, agile, and accessible. It is perfect for delivering therapeutic services safely and breaking down the barriers that prevent people from seeking help. The internet has made accessing therapy easy for: people on the move, people with physical mobility issues, people with impossible schedules, people who experience debilitating phobia, or simply people who find face-to-face therapy sessions too challenging, too time consuming or too costly!
Online Skype sessions drive prices down by saving travel-time and consulting room fees. All you need is a connection to the Internet, a device of your choice, (computer, smart phone or tablet) and a private space.

I offer Counselling & Psychotherapy for: General anxiety disorder, anger management, abandonment, adoption, bullying, bereavement, body image, depression, life coaching, low self-esteem, mental, physical and sexual abuse issues, panic attacks, self-harm, sexuality (pansexuality, non binary and all gender related issues), trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, medical conditions, obsessive compulsive disorder, phobias, post-natal depression, relationship and marital issues, stress (including work related stress) I especially welcome members of the LBGTQ community.

Lets chat about a treatment plan that best suits you:

  • Brief solution based therapy and coaching: - Brief solution focused therapy is more like mentoring. This brief therapy is an approach to psychotherapy based on solution-building rather than problem-solving. It explores current resources and future hopes rather than present problems and past causes.  Coping strategies and helpful techniques to help you manage are identified and typically it usually involves up to six sessions.
  • CBT: - Is used to great effect for the treatment of phobia, anxiety, stress and trauma. CBT aims to help people become aware of their negative interpretations and irrational thoughts that fuel unhelpful patterns of behaviour. CBT helps people to develop alternative ways of thinking and behaving through a process of evaluation, homework and exposure therapy to reduce psychological distress.
  • Psychotherapy: - One of the key objectives of psychotherapy is to help you gain a better understanding of the issues that are troubling you. Psychotherapy helps you work out new ways of approaching situations that you find difficult, as well as exploring new methods to help you cope with ongoing and challenging situations. By developing a trusting relationship with your psychotherapist, you are able to explore the more complex layers and talk through long-standing problems. It is a longer journey and may last several months or, in some cases, more than a year.

Choosing the right psychotherapist or personal consulting coach can be a daunting prospect: - I offer a complementary telephone assessment session as your opportunity for clients to to get a better sense of the counselling options on offer and a chance to ask questions and clear up any concerns.
