About me

Hello, my name is Sharan and I am committed to providing a safe therapeutic space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, concerns and fears. Where you can be listened to without judgement and knowing that what is discussed will be in confidence.

I have been working as a counsellor for the last five years. Over that time I have worked with a wide range of people, from teenagers to our more senior members of society. During my time counselling I have cover a range of issues from depression and trauma, anxiety, low self-esteem and low-confidence, bereavement; self-harm, work related stress, bullying, relationship problems and anger management.

I have extensive experience of working with all forms of sexual abuse and violence with both female and male clients.

Before I became a counsellor I had many years of experience working within a 24 x 7 industry and I understand the additional pressures and stress this can put on life.

Being an integrative counsellor and trained in different approaches, helps me to draw on different techniques to provide the best support possible and allows for me to adapt to your specific needs.

I can offer both long and short term therapy which is currently via online video call or by telephone.

It is important to feel comfortable in therapy, so to start with I offer an initial 30 minute telephone consultation free of charge. At this time we can discuss your needs and what you would like to gain from therapy. We can then decide together if therapy sessions with me, would be right for you at this time.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a level 4 diploma in Integrative Counselling (Psychodynamic, Person Centred, Existential Approaches).

I'm a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) .

Over the last 5 years I've have been fortunate to work with one of the UK Rape Crisis Centres, which I am still very much committed to.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
