Sharon Melrose - MBACP Counselling for teenagers and adults
You have made the first step which is often the hardest in seeking counselling for either yourself or on behalf of someone close to you. The next step is finding the right person whom you can trust to support you through the difficult times you're experiencing. By bringing myself into the counselling room my hope is that you will feel safe and together we can create that strong and trusting therapeutic relationship.
Whatever is troubling you, together we can work through the issues to help you find the resilience and coping mechanisms to move forward. I don't give you advice or tell you what you should do but help you find from within yourself the strength to move forward with your life. I have worked with clients's aged 11-60+ presenting with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, self-harm, eating disorders, bereavement and loss to name but a few. I work in a person-centred way where you can be assured that no matter what you bring into the counselling room I will never judge you but will be empathic and listen to you. Depending on how we work together I might bring in some other techniques including CBT, solution-focused, ACT, play therapy and gestalt.
If you are a parent or a carer of a young person or a young person yourself be reassured that I have much experience in working with this vulnerable age group. I love working teenagers and young people as I feel passionate about helping the through this time in their lives when they are faced with many challenges and work with them to find their own coping mechanism and resilience to help them as they enter adulthood.
So whats the next step? Either pick up the phone and give me a call or send me an email and we can have a chat to see how I can support you. I work from a discreet location in the CW8 Northwich area and have availability most days. I work closely with another counsellor as Young Rose Counselling and Psychotherapy (www.youngrosecounsellingandpsychotherapy.co.uk) which provides an advantage of choice and the option for multiple family members to be seen within the same setting.

There's no fixed number of sessions that you'll need. Each one of you is unique and we will review regularly together to make sure you are getting out of counselling what you were hoping for, along with how many sessions you might need, even then it’s not fixed in stone. You will always be the one making the decision. Each session will last up to 60 minutes.
I offer sessions in Hartford in Cheshire from an accessible and discreet private counselling room. I also provide the option, by agreement, to offer counselling appointments at an alternate location.
Sessions are around £45 dependent on needs.
I offer discounted rates for students studying for a professional counselling course along with individuals with low income and block bookings.
