About me

Hi my name is Sharon, thank you for taking the time to view my profile.

At some point in our life we may encounter problems, difficulties or long standing issues that make us feel unhappy, anxious or depressed, this at times can make us feel alone and not knowing which way to turn. Talking to a therapist can really help and is the first step of your journey, helping you to explore the possibilities to empower you to create positive change and begin to feel better.

Therapy offers a safe and comfortable space to allow you to grow and learn in an environment which is confidential and non-judgemental and delivered with care and compassion. I feel the therapeutic relationship is paramount to the success of therapy and having a therapist who listens and understands can make a huge difference.

I am fully qualified, and I work with individuals as well as couples, working with you at your pace as I believe there is no problem that is too large or too small.

I am an open, friendly and a trustworthy person and I am passionate about the service I deliver, I first came into contact with the field of counselling upon having therapy myself; I feel this has greatly helped me to understand others and want to enhance other people's lives and make a difference like it has helped me.

I understand and have experienced that life can be unkind and unpredictable at certain points in our lives but whatever challenges you may be facing I can empathise and I am here to help. I can help with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, confidence issues, anger, divorce, bereavement and relationship difficulties and many other problems you may wish to overcome.

I work from a location which is very accessible yet discrete, with private rooms and flexible hours to suit you. Please feel free to contact me by clicking here or call 07814 312388 for a private consultation.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
