Thank you for stopping by my page my name is Sharon and I am a Person Centred Counsellor, Person Centred Counselling in a non directive form of talking therapy.
Therapy: As a person centred counsellor my role is not to solve your issues/concerns but to accompany you along a path of self-discovery, whilst supporting and listening to your story. By working together in this way it is hoped that not only will you begin to work through your issues/concerns but that you will also gain the tools to deal with future life events. By gaining a different perspective and hearing/saying out loud your concerns, we can begin to address and prioritise what's important to you as an individual.
I offer a safe non judgemental space in which to share your concerns and speak freely, and a place where you can be heard.
As a member of the BACP I work within their Ethical Framework, and under take regular supervision to ensure on going good practise.
I provide a written copy of the confidentiality policy within which I work, in order to ensure you are aware of the limitation of the counselling relationship.
Specialising: I have worked with bereavement & loss, anxiety, self-esteem issues, self-harm/injury, mental health issues, family issues/relationships, stress, depression and self-image issues. I have worked with both adults and teenagers and have an extensive number of years experiences in various settings which include, young offender's institutes, social care, secondary education and Myton Hospice.
Appointments: I am available daily for appointments, including evenings and Saturday mornings.
I am happy to offer telephone Counselling also, on a one to one basis, however couples and family counselling would need to be face to face appointments as I feel that body language plays a significant part in working through issues.
