I am qualified as an integrative counsellor and I offer counselling in a semi-rural location close to Basingstoke town centre. An initial session of 30 minutes is provided free of charge. This session allows us to meet informally to discern if we are suited to working together. Further sessions of 50 mins cost £45.00. Central to my counselling approach is building a warm, confidential and restorative relationship with each of my clients. As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a variety of counselling theories and approaches to suit each client's individual needs.
Counselling is a process that helps people express themselves to a professional person outside of their situation. Sometimes it can help them make choices or reach decisions on how to handle their concerns. I will encourage you to talk about what is troubling you and listen to what you have to say. The aim is to help you become clearer about both the extent and the effect of the problem, and maybe to help you recognise possible solutions – ones that will work for you. One part of the work might involve you considering what you are thinking, feeling and doing (or not doing), and how thoughts, emotions and behaviour all interact together. Another part of the work might involve you finding internal resources for changes in thinking and acting, and in making the changes that you have decided on.
I have experience of working with a variety of presenting issues including, anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties and bereavement.
