About me

Grief can feel exhausting and all-consuming, leaving even simple tasks like reaching out to loved ones feeling overwhelming. Many people experience waves of unexpected sadness, anxiety, or emptiness that seem to appear out of nowhere—sometimes triggered by something as small as a joyful moment on the street. Sleep may become difficult, and waking up early with a heavy heart can be a common part of the experience. These emotional shifts—sadness, confusion, anger, guilt—are all natural responses to loss. While grief often feels isolating, it's important to remember you're not alone, and many people struggle with similar feelings as they try to navigate life after a loss.

I work with individuals who are experiencing grief or loss whether it's due to the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or a major life transition. If you're struggling to function day to day, feeling overwhelmed by your emotions, or simply trying to make sense of what you're going through, I’m here to support you.

I offer a safe, compassionate space where you can begin to process your feelings and make sense of your grief. Together, we can explore the emotions you're carrying, consider healthy ways to cope, support your reconnection with your inner strength, and and gently explore what a new path forward might look like for you.

 Session Frequency & Format
I offer therapy sessions online or by telephone, whichever format feels most comfortable and accessible for you. Telephone therapy can be especially helpful if you're feeling anxious about face-to-face or video sessions. It provides a valid, confidential, and effective way to engage in therapy without the added pressure of being on screen.

I am experienced in both short-term and long-term therapy

Weekly sessions are generally considered most beneficial for building momentum and making meaningful progress, but the frequency can be tailored to suit your individual needs and circumstances.

My experience
I offer bereavement support through a dedicated charity, helping individuals navigate the complex emotions that come with loss.

I’ve also supported clients in a domestic abuse charity and worked with individuals facing substance use issues and a range of mental health challenges. These experiences have deepened my understanding of trauma and resilience.

After a 15-year career in IT, I transitioned into counselling, motivated by my own personal growth and transformation through therapy. My own counselling journey has been instrumental in shaping my empathetic, client-centered approach, allowing me to support others with authenticity, compassion, and insight.

Next Steps
Please feel free to get in touch via the 'Email Me' button. I offer a no-obligation 20-minute introductory chat either by phone or online. This is an opportunity for you to ask any questions about therapy or how I work, and to briefly share what’s bringing you to counselling. I look forward to speaking with you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
