Shaneen Kirby (MBACP)
I am a professional person centered counsellor who is invested in helping children, young people and adults through their difficulties. Teaching them how to cope with life events and giving them strategies and tools which enable them to live a more balanced and fulfilling harmonious life.
I am passionate about helping people achieve a positive mind, achieve their potential and live their life to their full ability. I believe that offering a respectful, trusting and equal relationship in counselling is essential. It is my belief that this allows growth and healing to take place. Counselling can be a life changing empowering experience.
I am able to offer counselling, working in a creative therapeutic way. We don’t always have the language or words to describe how we feel so working creative with art and play strategies enables and helps clients to express themselves without having to verbalise it.
Self care is so important in our busy lives but we tend to neglect it, we focus on achieving outer perfection in a critical world trying to fit in to the stereotypes we are fed in the media but what about our inner potential and our true self.

I work in a non judgemental, empathic way, which enables for a positive therapeutic relationship to form and develop. I believe this is essential for my clients to feel valued, respected and safe to explore their experiences and emotions.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
