About me
Hello there! I’m Shalini, a BACP registered Person Centred therapist. I’m wondering what has brought you here today. Whether you’re feeling anxious, depressed, navigating a big life change, a new diagnosis, experienced a loss or are currently finding it difficult to understand your emotions. I’m here to listen and offer support without judgement.
As a Person Centred therapist, I provide a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space for you to explore your feelings at your own pace. Together, we’ll work through what’s on your mind and help you make sense of it all.
Choosing the right therapist is important, so I’d like to share a bit about myself. I was born and raised in Singapore and have lived in four different countries, including spending a decade in Dubai working with Emirates. In 2020, I relocated to the peaceful Cheshire countryside with my family. Although I retrained as a counsellor later in life, my life experiences have been instrumental in preparing me for this role. Throughout my career, I’ve always been in roles that involved listening, empathising, and connecting with others. These experiences helped me develop a strong sense of understanding and compassion.
Being a person of colour and having lived in diverse cultures has deepened my appreciation for the unique challenges people face. I stand for inclusivity and am committed to creating a space where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and understood. I also adopt a neuroaffirming approach, recognising and respecting the diversity of human experiences, including neurodivergence. It’s this combination of lived experience and professional training that I believe makes me well-suited to support you on your journey.
I bring experience from both community mental health services affiliated with the NHS and charities. These roles have given me a strong foundation in delivering person centred therapy, supporting individuals with diverse needs, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. I am committed to providing the care and support that is right for you, regardless of your background or experiences.
My aim is to create a space where you feel truly heard and supported. Together, we can explore your thoughts and emotions in a way that feels safe, validating, and empowering. I would be humbled to walk alongside you as you work towards greater clarity, understanding, and personal growth.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
