About me
Hello and welcome! My name is Shaline, and I am a qualified person-centred counsellor. I believe in creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported as we work together on the challenges you are facing.
As a person-centred counsellor, I focus on building a genuine, empathetic relationship with you, where your thoughts and feelings are validated and respected. My approach is rooted in the belief that you are the expert of your own life, and my role is to guide and support you as you explore your emotions, gain insight, and work towards personal growth.
Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, or simply need someone to talk to, I offer a compassionate and open-minded environment where you can explore your thoughts at your own pace. My aim is to empower you to make positive changes in your life, helping you navigate through difficult times with confidence and self-awarenes.
I offer both short-term and long-term counselling, tailored to meet your individual needs. If you're looking for someone who will listen without judgment and support you through life's ups and downs, I’d be honoured to work with you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a degree in Person-Centred Counselling and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which ensures that I adhere to high ethical and professional standards in my practice. I have worked with a diverse range of clients, gaining experience in various areas including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, self-esteem issues, and stress management. My training and ongoing professional development equip me with the skills to support clients from all walks of life, and I am committed to providing a compassionate and empathetic space for healing and growth. Whether you're seeking short-term support or long-term therapeutic work, I offer a client-centered non-directive approach to help you move forward in a way that feels right for you.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
