Hello and welcome to Grey Space Counselling; my name is Shale, and I am an MBACP registered, Integrative Counsellor. I work with adults (18years+) offering both short- and long-term therapy and aim to provide a safe space, where together, we can explore what has happened to you, rather than what is wrong with you.
Being human can be tough and we can all experience difficulties with our mental health. This does not mean you are broken or need to be ‘fixed’, but instead you are having a normal human response to an abnormally painful, difficult or scary experience. You may be going through a relationship breakdown, experiencing a bereavement or suffering from increased anxiety. If you are experiencing more than you can carry right now or feel alone, confused or overwhelmed then it may help to talk through your thoughts and feelings with a professional counsellor.
As an Integrative therapist, I blend different therapeutic approaches, drawing from a range of psychological theories including person centred, psychodynamic, systemic and CBT to support our work together, tailoring my approach to meet the needs of clients. I aim to offer a warm, empathetic and pragmatic approach, supporting clients to gain their own understanding of the issues they bring and work with them to identify changes that are right for them.
If this feels like it might be what you are looking for, please reach out and we can arrange a free 15 minute assessment to discuss how we may work together. You can contact me by email or call me on 07824 833303, or visit my website and I will reply within 24hrs.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
