About me

I am a qualified Psychotherapist and I offer both short and long-term counselling and Psychotherapy. My focus is on helping clients to bring about positive change in their lives, to find resolutions to the internal conflicts and difficulties they face and to make positive choices about their future.

In addition to my qualifications in Psychotherapy, I am also a Diet and Nutrition Advisor and consider that the two compliment each other well. I have a particular interest in helping clients to improve their physical and mental health by focusing on the physical weight loss (through diet and nutrition advice) whilst at the same time addressing the deeper psychological issues which are at the core of their difficulties.

As a registered accredited member of The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS)  I work within their ethical framework. I am fully committed to continuing my professional development by regularly undertaking additional training to enhance my therapeutic work with clients.

My training was integrative which means I utilize a wide range of therapeutic approaches, adopting the most appropriate one to compliment each client and their individual needs and presenting issues.

The theories I embrace are:

Person-Centred - (non-directive humanistic approach that deals with the ways in which individuals perceive themselves consciously rather than how a therapist can interpret their unconscious thoughts or ideas).

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) - focuses on how thoughts and perceptions affect the way we feel and behave.

Psychodynamic - (sees human functioning as based upon the interaction of drives and forces within us, particularly unconscious ones).

Transactional Analysis (TA) - a modern psychology that involves a set of practical tools designed to promote personal growth and change and a method to improve communication.

Gestalt Therapy - (sees self-awareness as the key to personal growth and developing full potential, focusing on what's happening at the present moment').
