About me

Hello there, my name is Selma and I am an Integrative Psychotherapist and artist. I work as a private practitioner currently offering online sessions via video platforms such as Zoom.

I have dedicated the last 10 years of my career to working within the mental health and wellbeing services, and this has left me with the skills and expertise to support those in a variety of situations and from a range of different backgrounds.  I offer brief (6-12 sessions) and longer term (open ended) counselling and psychotherapy to both individuals and couples.

Being an Integrative Psychotherapist means that I am able to adapt therapy around you and use different approaches based on what is most appropriate for you and your needs. Pulling from different types of modalities such as Mindfulness, CBT, Psychodynamic, Gestalt and Humanistic Therapy; my approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, relational, interactive and creative. I believe the relationship between us is the most important thing within therapy and aim to offer you a comfortable, safe space in order to foster a beautiful relationship.

Areas of experience and interest:

  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Depression
  • Sense of Self, Self-love & Self-worth
  • Identity
  • Attachment
  • Boundary Setting
  • Self-esteem & Confidence Building
  • Relationship Difficulties & Challenges (both romantic and platonic)
  • Trauma
  • Bereavement

There are many reasons that bring people to therapy and whatever yours may be, just know it is an important first step.

I am currently in the middle of developing my website which will have more detailed information about how I work, what you can expect from working with me and information on upcoming workshops and events you may be interested in. In the meantime please feel welcome to email me with any questions you may have and I would be happy to offer a brief telephone conversation with you before you book a therapy session with me.

I look forward to working together.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
