I believe that counselling is not only for those who are distressed, but for anybody who would like to explore themselves and how they relate to others and the world around them.
In a world where we are often busy and have little time for our emotions, counselling can be a useful tool for life. As a mental health counsellor, I can help you to manage your emotions effectively, cope with stress and depression, dealing with chronic pain, work on self-confidence, build resilience, improve the quality of relationships and deal with periods of transition. I can help you to understand yourself and what is going on for you in that moment, allowing you the chance to delve into your inner world, exploring what is holding you back in life and impacting your wellbeing.
I’m an integrated counsellor and I use a range of therapeutic approaches, including Person-Centered Counselling, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) - a form of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Approach tailoring my approach according to my individual client’s needs.
Training, qualifications & experience
With a first degree and a Ph.D. in psychological counselling, I have over 15 years’ experience as a mental health practitioner.
I’m registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) in the UK and I adhere to their professional code of ethics. I also undertake continual supervision and professional development.
During the initial session, I will talk you through the counselling process, answer any questions and give you the opportunity to talk to me about the topics you would like to discuss in your sessions.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
