About me

I offer a confidential and non-judgmental environment in which any issues you may bring can be explored safely and in depth. I have worked with people struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, and have particular experience supporting those with past experiences of trauma or at some kind of crossroads in their lives.

The difficulties we have in dealing with the present may often have their origins in experiences from the past. You may be seeking therapy to try and make a shift in areas that feel stuck or habitual - whether in everyday behavior or personal relationships - or to deal with significant life changes, such as separation, divorce, bereavement and redundancy. I will support you to make sense of patterns and changes, find ways to articulate and understand what was not previously easy to put into words, and to discover and think through new ways of moving forward. The process of looking at ourselves and the feelings we struggle with can often seem overwhelming and scary, and at the same time it can be transformative, offering a growing sense of hope, self-esteem and confidence.

I am an HCPC-registered counsellor and psychotherapist with over ten years experience in the mental health and community support field. I believe that compassion, creativity and respect are vital qualities for creating meaningful change and I draw on a range of therapeutic orientations according to what is best suited to each person and situation. We can discuss at the start of therapy whether time-limited counselling (6-12 sessions) or longer-term, in-depth therapy would be most helpful for you.

I offer sessions from my consulting rooms in Farringdon, Central London, and Muswell Hill, North London.

Therapeutic Use of the Arts

I offer a variety of art materials, including paints, pens, sand tray, postcards and clay, that may help to express emotions that are initially too painful to put into words. Using the arts in conjunction with talking may offer a safe and contained way to start to look at and make sense of complicated experiences and see situations from a range of perspectives. There is no need to have previous experiences of using the mediums or to be 'good' at art - rather art-making can simply offer an additional and often powerful way of furthering personal insight, healing and self-awareness.
