About me

I am a registered therapist with the BACP, hold a Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling, as well as Diplomas in both CBT and Relationship Therapy.

Individuals
I have worked with individuals who are suffering from anxiety, depression, addiction, grief, low self-esteem, loneliness or perhaps just a vague sense that something isn't right. Issues or relationships from the past that you can't seem to escape, or perhaps an recent encounter that you can't stop turning over in your mind.

Couples
And with couples who feel they no longer can communicate, who watch helplessly as small issues explode into destructive rows. Or perhaps one partner has had an affair and you can't seem to get past it. My approach understands the importance of communication and of valuing your partner however it also accepts and explores the pressures that can exist within relationships. Time constraints, finance, demands of children and of work, the stress of being in conflict, these are all forces that can easily over-whelm any couple.

One aspect of my practice is the awareness counselling sessions are short and of limited duration. For some this is sufficient; you may simply want a space to talk and be listened to. However for others, and this is can be particularly true for people suffering from anxiety or depression, numerous studies have shown the importance developing or reconnecting with new or existing support structures, and part of our conversation together may be about engagement, or otherwise, with activities that promote good emotional wellbeing.

Research has shown that the relationship is key to any therapeutic process. And compassion is the bedrock of any relationship. I have a professional, welcoming space, in the centre of Bournemouth where you can feel free to talk, and feel like the counsellor is listening. And together, using both humanistic and CBT approaches, we can get to the heart of the matter and get you where you want to be.

I offer a free 30 minute initial consultation.
