About me

Hi, I'm Sarah, a qualified counsellor providing a friendly, non-judgemental, safe space where you can talk about your thoughts, feeling and ideas.

If you would you like help with life's daily challenges, or maybe you are finding life hard work, not enjoying the things you used to or trying to manage a low mood, you could really benefit by talking to someone who listens to you and wants to understand and help you to find a better way of living - and this is where I am able to help.

I will not judge, lecture or criticise you and together, we will work with you to find out what works for you. I am here for you and no one else, meaning you will be able to decide what you want from the sessions, you decide how many times you see me, and you decide what works and what we talk about - you are the expert in your life.

I offer a free 20 minute initial meeting at the Torus Wellbeing Clinic (or a telephone consultation) to see if we would like to work together. So if you feel I might be able to provide you with some support or advice please do get in touch.

I am also able to offer animal-assisted therapy with my retired greyhound for those who would like to try an alternative to traditional counselling. The benefits to using animals in counselling can be huge.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling Psychology (Keele University)
  • Full member of the BACP.

I have significant experience of working with depression, including post-natal depression, anxiety, trauma and grief. My work at a local hospice and personal experience has given me with a wealth of understanding surrounding bereavement, terminal illness and life-changing events.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

Animal-assisted therapy can provide an alternative form of counselling, for clients who find one on one counselling challenging to engage in. The presence of a dog in the room can help calm a client, and they can generate change by improving communication, providing comfort and support and having contact with an animal. If you would like to find out more about this, please do get in touch and I will be happy to discuss this with you.
