About me
Hi there and a warm welcome to my profile. I’m Sarah, a Person-Centred Counsellor based in Worthing, working with clients in person, online and by telephone.
I know it can be hard to sift through the extensive list of counsellors, along with the numerous types of therapy. My hope is that here I can provide you with an idea of who I am and how I practice, for you to decide if we might be a good fit to work together or if you’d like to find out more.
Background
I moved to Sussex from South Wales in 2016 and it has since become my home. For the past twelve years, I have worked in the health and social care sector and I couldn’t imagine ever doing anything else. With a genuine care for and interest in others, for me, it is an honour to be alongside clients through their unique experiences, in both the darker and lighter times.
How I Practice
I practice the person-centred approach to counselling. Often therapies can look vastly different depending on the therapist. Personally, I see my role as creating a safe non-judgemental environment where you feel able to explore whatever is important to you. Going at your pace, I will be right there with you, facilitating your exploration and navigating our way together.
If you would like to find out more or chat about arranging a trial session please contact me following the details provided. Equally, if you have any questions please do reach out.
I endeavour to make counselling accessible to all, so if you have any specific requirements, big or small, please let me know and I will do my best to meet them.
I wish you all the best in finding what you are looking for.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
