About me

Hello and a very warm welcome to my counselling profile.

£40 per session - 50% discount Students and Young People (14+)

When life is overwhelming, you're struggling with emotions, facing uncertainty or poor mental health, talking with someone like myself can help you.  In a safe and supportive environment, we can explore the concerns you are experiencing together.

As an experienced counsellor, I am able to offer you a safe space and a time where you are able to talk in confidence, collect your thoughts and gain new insight about yourself, your emotions, your relationships and your experiences.  It may be something to do with your past, your present situation or worries about what the future may hold.

Whatever it is that you are facing and going through at this moment in time, no matter how tough,  when you are ready...I'm listening.

"People are just as wonderful as sunsets if I can let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don't find myself saying, "Soften the orange a little on the right hand corner, and put a bit more purple along the base, and use a little more pink in the cloud color." I don't do that. I don’t try to control a sunset. I watch it with awe as it unfolds." Carl Rogers,A Way of Being, Houghton Mifflin, 1980: 22

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
