About me

I work with busy women to help them rediscover themselves, so they can live the fulfilling life they truly long for.

  1. Do you feel constantly anxious, rushed, and unable to focus on important tasks? Maybe you're prepping for a crucial meeting, sitting with racing thoughts, pounding heart, upset tummy? Or you're worrying about how you'll cope if your mind goes blank during a presentation.
  2. Do you feel constant dread or nervousness in your stomach? It might disrupt your sleep, keeping you awake for hours with worries about unfinished tasks and tomorrow's to-do list. Or perhaps you wake up early, unable to fall back asleep, feeling drained and unsure how to face the day ahead.
  3. Do you ever feel lost outside of work and family? With all the responsibilities, it's hard to find time to even think about it?  Maybe you've lost touch with things you used to enjoy and can't find your way back.
  4. Is your job so important that you barely have time for yourself? Maybe the lack of personal time causes you to snap at loved ones over small things, leaving you feeling unappreciated and guilty for your irritability.
  5. Are you constantly giving yourself a hard time about what you should or shouldn’t be doing, leaving you annoyed, frustrated and wondering “is it just me?”
  6. Do you keep delaying important tasks, like writing a difficult email, and instead do easier or less important things, like organizing your emails or scrolling through social media/playing games on your phone? Perhaps you're unsure how to begin a task, so you put it off until the last minute. Then, you rush to complete it, leaving yourself stressed and doubting your abilities.
  7. Do you have high expectations for yourself and others, often feeling disappointed and frustrated when they're not met? Maybe you're always helping others without receiving the same support in return. Or you put effort into thoughtful gestures, such as birthday's, but they're not reciprocated.
  8. Do others see you as having it all together, the reliable one they can lean on, while inside you're overwhelmed, fearing you'll be found out? Do you avoid social gatherings, worried you might say something you regret to irritating acquaintances or family members? Maybe keeping up the facade of being "okay" feels exhausting.

You've probably already tried different things to improve your situation, like talking to friends/family members, reading self-help books, listening to podcasts or activities to help you relax like yoga, meditation, massages, but haven't found what works for you.

I Can Help You:

  • Feel less anxious and happier in your life by learning more about yourself, so that you can discover what's important
  • Find your passion and purpose, so that you can make positive changes.
  • Rediscover calm, control, and fulfillment in your life so that you can find joy again in those everyday moments with your family.
  • Give yourself permission to slow down and prioritise what truly matters to you, so you can create more free time to enjoy hobbies and interests.
  • Learn coping strategies and techniques to improve self-worth and feel more confidence in your decisions and actions at work and at home
  • Find ways to improve your sleep so that you feel more able to cope with those unpredictable curve balls that life throws at you
  • Manage stress and pressure more effectively so that you can tackle everyday challenges without feeling overwhelmed
  • Learn ways to build healthier relationships with less conflict and resentment, so you can enjoy better communication and quality time with loved ones
  • Work through memories and feelings relating to your past so that they are no longer as painful, enabling you to feel lighter and more able to focus on your future.

I'm frequently told that I'm easy to talk to and any anxiety that you may be feeling is often short lived when you meet me, as I work really hard to help you feel as comfortable as possible throughout our time together.  You can expect to leave your first session feeling better than when you came in!

I know that considering counselling and talking to a stranger about the things on your mind can be a very scary and overwhelming experience. Friends and family can offer advice but they’re often saying what they think is best – but that might not be the same thing as what’s actually helpful to you! AND maybe coming to counselling is something you've never imagined yourself doing, but it’s one of the best things you could ever do for yourself!

I'm an experienced counsellor with over 8 years of working with a diverse range of clients and issues. I offer in person sessions in Bolsover (just off of J29A of the M1) and video appointments (online via Zoom), so you can see me in the way you prefer.

What You Can Expect From Our Sessions

Our sessions will be 50 minutes in length and are usually weekly (particularly within the first few weeks) at a mutually beneficial time.  Alternative frequencies (such as fortnightly or monthly) can be discussed and agreed, if required.

I mostly offer appointments on Tuesday's, Wednesday's, Thursday's and some Saturday's mornings but sometimes there is flexibility around this so please let me know your availability.

Many people enter therapy knowing what they want to work on, while others don’t.  Either way, finding someone who you feel comfortable with is essential.

A good first step is to book an initial session, which allows for you to decide if I'm the right therapist for you and I can assess whether I think I am best placed to work with you.

If you'd like to talk about your situation, ask any questions or raise any concerns, please text or phone me on 07517 644 540 or email me at info@sarahwallacecounselling.co.uk (If you contact me via email, please check your junk/spam folders as often my replies end up there. Alternatively include a mobile number in your email so I can text to inform you I've responded to your email).

What Clients Have Said About Working With Me:

  1. "It's been life changing!"
  2. "You've given me strength to get through this!"
  3. "You've helped me to see that I'm important too"
  4. "I would highly recommend Sarah to anyone . I was very cautious when I decided to seek help but she managed to get to the bottom of some very deep seated issues. She used her skills to gently probe and I often thought “where did that come from?” when issues came to the fore. I always felt secure in her consultations, both physically and emotionally".
