My focus is always on what you want. I know that whatever brings you to me will be of great significance and value - whether we can see that immediately or it takes time to understand.
People approach me for different reasons:
- to resolve and reduce specific symptoms such as anxiety, addiction, depression or phobias
- to find purpose and motivation
- to make decisions
- for accountability and support as they work towards their own transformational goals such as weight loss or establishing a spiritual practice
- to explore a general sense that may not be easy to describe - of longing, or sadness, or untapped creativity.
My extensive training and experience means that I can work using techniques from the field of coaching, depth psychotherapy, counselling and short-term solution-focused interventions.
In my view, the transformative core of psychotherapy is mindful, deep and challenging conversation about your experience.
Sometimes we might agree that something else is needed to facilitate your movement in the direction you are seeking to go: and at those times I will offer techniques or a new approach.
If I don't think I can help you, I will say so and I will take time to do what I can to point you in the right direction.

Psychotherapy or counselling: £55
Executive coaching: fees TBC
Online and phone therapy: £60
I occasionally offer online or phone therapy where I believe I can be of benefit with this format - I don't think it works for everyone, and I think there are times when it is of great value. An initial free-of-charge 20 minute phone call is usually sufficient for us both to decide whether this is right for you.
Clinical supervision for psychotherapists and counsellors: £52
Initial assessment: £55
If you're interested in working with me, then give me a call or email in the first instance and we'll have a brief conversation where I can answer any questions you have.
We then agree a time to meet for a 50 minute initial assessment session. At this session I will invite you to talk with me about what's brought you to me. You may find yourself telling me more than you were expecting to share, and it's part of my role to help you feel safe to do so.
We would then agree the most useful next step for you.
The frequency and timing of sessions would depend on what you're looking to have happen in therapy. I'll be clear with you about what I think will work best, taking into account what you want and the resources (time, financial and other) you have available to you.
Usually I work with people weekly, at least until we are clear about the direction of the therapy. At that point it might make sense to change the frequency and we can review this regularly.
