About me
Hello and welcome!
Embarking on your counselling journey can be scary, daunting and a little worrying to start with. It may feel like the biggest step you have ever taken. However, you are ready to take the first steps into prioritising your mental health and well-being just by looking for your counsellor. Sound familiar?
How can I help?
I can offer you a safe, non-judgemental space where together we can explore your concerns, I will not only listen but hear you and support you to find ways to manage your emotions, worries and thoughts. In times of distress, upset, grief, sorrow, emotional turmoil we sometimes just need a little support to guide us through.
What to expect at your first session
At In The Moment Counselling, your comfort and sense of safety come first. Your first session is a gentle introduction, there’s no pressure to share anything you’re not ready to.
We’ll spend time getting to know each other, talking about what’s brought you to counselling, and exploring how I can best support you. You’ll have the chance to ask questions, learn about how I work, and decide whether this feels like the right fit for you.
Whether you’re feeling nervous, unsure, or simply curious, you’ll be met with warmth, respect, and acceptance, just as you are.
A little about my background
My counselling career began following a 17 year career as an NHS nurse, observing the impact that life events and illness have on us as well as our families and relationships. I have over 25 years' experience working in healthcare giving me excellent grounding and understanding of health and wellbeing and an ability to support you through your journey.
My aim is to help you overcome any barriers you feel are in your way of being the best version of yourself. I can help you become more aware of YOU, what's happening for YOU and how YOU would like to see YOU grow and develop. I am here to build a trusting therapeutic relationship with you and am looking forward to helping you grow.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
