About me

Whatever the reason you are seeking therapy, it can be helpful to have someone to talk with that is not going to judge, analyse or tell you what to do. My aim as a therapist is to create a safe space to explore, to help you to a deeper understanding of yourself and assist you in finding your own way forward.

I have a passion for integrating mind, body and spirit into the work we do and applying current, up-to-date advances in the treatment of trauma in a creative and formulation-based way. I have a broad and varied experience having worked in different settings in both private and organisations.

I have specialised primarily in trauma, abuse and their many manifestations. My main aim is to help clients to observe, understand and change patterns laid down in childhood and through acute stress. Attunement is key and accompanying clients on such a journey and seeing them transform and accept is a huge privilege.

I am an experienced bilingual counsellor/psychotherapist and able to provide therapy in English and Albanian. I provide a private and confidential counselling service and work with a diverse range of people from a wide range of backgrounds. I specialise on working with asylum seekers, refugees, survivors of trafficking and modern day slavery.

Clients I work with include adults, couples, older adults, and young people.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I believe we can all benefit from therapy by giving ourselves time to focus.

Admitting that we might need a counsellor can seem daunting. However, there are times when it helps to have someone to talk to outside of our immediate circle as we endeavour to make sense of thoughts, feelings and/or circumstances that may be causing distress.

As a counsellor and psychotherapist I will listen to you carefully to discern the key areas of concern, and work with you to enable understanding and consider with you ways to bring about change.

How I deliver therapy

Long-term face-to-face work, Short-term face-to-face work, Telephone counselling, Home visits.

I offer short-term and long-term individual and group counselling and psychotherapy with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully. I see individuals on a weekly basis. It's sometimes possible however to arrange a one off single session or more intense blocks of sessions can be arranged and can be very effective during crisis.

I work with individuals based on their presenting needs and therefore counselling sessions are tailored to you at your own pace. I believe every individual is unique, therefore I offer a 15-minute free initial assessment so that we can meet and decide if we can work together. This initial assessment allows you to see if you would like me as your therapist and it allows me to learn about you and what has brought you to counselling. It also gives you the chance to ask any questions you may have about counselling or the way that I work.
