About me

Hello, my name is Sarah. I am a BACP registered Integrative Psychotherapist who primarily focuses on ensuring that my client feels comfortable to explore hidden truths, emotional pain and daily struggles. I offer short and long term therapy, that can be face-to-face and also via Zoom, Skype or telephone.

There are many different reasons that can bring us to therapy. You may be struggling with emotional difficulties, finding meaning, be going through a transition. You may be experiencing unhelpful thoughts and behaviours, or simply feel that something just isn't right. My approach focuses on assisting you to work through dynamics that may be keeping you in a way of being that is inhibiting or painful, so that you can connect with more vitality, reach for your potential, and lead a more fulfilling life.

I specifically tailor my methods to your needs and wishes. Together, we can explore old patterns that may have not been serving you well, and find new ways to create a nourishing and happier future.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a BACP registered counselling psychotherapist. I adhere to the code of ethics of the BACP and regularly attend Continued Professional Development training/conferences in order to keep up with developments in contemporary practice and maintain the requirements of accreditation.

I see private clients while working for one of the UK’s leading children’s mental health organisation and a charity with specialises with trauma and domestic violence survivors.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

Every human story is unique and complex; every issue is worth listening to. Working with clients of diverse backgrounds, sharing their narratives and accompanying them in unravelling their stories has been a privilege for me as a counsellor.

I offer counselling to adults and adolescents. My approach is integrative and person centred with the intention of exploring and understanding each individual's unique personal experiences and needs. I believe that therapy can help us to achieve a greater understanding of ourselves and others, boost resilience and improve emotional wellbeing.

My approach is empathetic, warm and open-minded, providing a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space to explore all that is happening for you. Over the years as a counsellor I have assisted clients in different counselling services as well as privately.

I also speak Persian, Farsi (dari-dialect), Spanish and Urdu.
