Sarah Parkes Metaireau, Reg. MBACP, PGDip in MA Gestalt Therapy Theory Studies
4 Cranmer Close
I'm a fully qualified and experienced BACP registered counsellor, working in private practice in Weybridge. I offer both one to one counselling and group work. I can work with a wide range of issues including anxiety and stress, relationship issues, depression, low self-esteem, self-image, identity, shame, anger, addictions, loss and bereavement, domestic and sexual abuse.
I understand how everyday events can be associated with stress and affect people's lives, both professionally and personally and how important self-care is. It takes courage to ask for help. Sometimes we just need someone who will really listen to us and treat us with respect, so talking to a professional can be helpful. The therapeutic relationship is different to any other relationship since it is all about you.
I truly believe that people are born with the resources and ability to in rewarding contact with other human beings, lead a satisfying, creative life and potentially have all the necessary abilities to solve their problems or face their difficulties. However, often during childhood and sometimes later on, something interrupts this process and the person becomes stuck in fixed patterns and beliefs about themselves that get in the way.
I aim to investigate and uncover how these patterns are still active and affecting a person's present life. I hope to assist you and empower you to find new and more creative ways to resolve the problem or crisis you are facing. I provide a safe, supportive, trusting therapeutic environment where we can explore your issues in a non-judgemental, accepting way. I offer myself as a reliable, open, honest, committed and understanding counsellor, respectfully working at your pace.
