About me

Do you feel life is getting you down at the moment?  Or you simply can't cope as well as you would like?

Perhaps you are feeling sad, depressed, anxious or suffering from panic attacks? Maybe you are having family issues or have low self-esteem or low-confidence?

Counselling can help improve your confidence and raise your self esteem. It can support you with various issues including personal relationships, work stress or past trauma.  It can support you with feeling sad, depression, anxiety and isolation.  Do you feel alone and struggling to understand what life is all about?  Have past situations left you feeling judged or misunderstood, like no one understands?  Perhaps you don't understand yourself.  It doesn't have to be like this forever; counselling can help you learn about yourself and about your needs.  What makes you tick and what you want from your life.

I work by supporting my clients on the very personal journey they are on.  I strongly believe every client has the capacity for change and feel this is achieved through the clients own exploration, determination and courage.  Through compassionately inquiring and carefully listening, clients feel heard and understood, sometimes for the first time in their lives which allows a deeper look at their current situation.  I offer a safe environment for the client to explore and investigate their issues and hopes for a better future.

Being heard, understood and accepted can help you can let go of old patterns and move towards a happier future.

I qualified as an integrative therapist with a diploma in counselling in 2005 and recently completing a 1st class degree in 2020 in person-centred counselling and psychotherapy.  My specialist interests are health, well being and how the mind affects the body and in particular developmental trauma.  I am currently working for a charity organisation where we support clients who have experienced domestic violence and sexual assault either currently or historically.

I believe everybody has the potential to improve their life and tackle any blocks that they feel may be preventing them from living the life they wish to live.

My therapy room is located between Andover and Salisbury and is within easy reach of Southampton.

Taking the first step:

I offer 50 minute sessions on an individual basis, currently over the telephone or online due to the current pandemic.

If you would like a complimentary 20 min initial consultation please call me to arrange one.  This initial contact offers us the opportunity to speak with each other and gain an understanding of what you would like to achieve from counselling and also offers you the opportunity to chat through any questions or concerns you may have about what counselling will involve.

I usually see people once a week and I can offer weekday appointments with a few evening slots also available.

The fee is £50 per session and I am able to offer some reduced fee appointments if you are not able to pay the full cost.

Please give me a call to arrange a mutually convenient time for our consultation.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
