About me

Hello and a very warm welcome! My name is Sarah and I am a counsellor and psychotherapist based in Inverness. I offer in-person, online and phone sessions to people over the age of 16, both during the day and in the evening.

Many people are worried that counselling will be filled with awkward silences where they feel pressured to speak, or that they won't 'click' with their therapist. I really understand that fear and so I bring my warmth and personality into every session, so clients feel like they are talking to a real person. There is nothing cold or clinical about my practice, as feeling safe is such an important part of therapy and I'm confident I can offer that to you.

Reaching out for support takes a lot of courage, and sending that first email can feel like the toughest step! As someone who has received my own personal therapy, I really believe that knowledge is power, and the more I can help you to understand what is going on for you, the more control you will feel over your own life.

If you are facing challenges in your life, or are feeling a bit down and you're not sure why, I would so welcome a message from you. Counselling gives us a toolbox we can use to gain a better understanding of what’s causing the problems we are facing, and how we can move towards managing or resolving them.

My role is not to diagnose or cure you; I am here to work alongside you as we explore together what is keeping you from moving forward.

Further information

There are no set rules around the number if sessions I can offer you, it completely depends on what you want, and what you need. I am happy to see you for a single session, for short-term sessions or for longer term counselling. It is normal and helpful for counsellor and client to review this as we go along.

Meeting regularly is most beneficial, especially at the beginning of your counselling. This would usually mean on a weekly basis, but I am happy to review this depending on your needs; we could discuss a fortnightly option, or whatever is going to work best for you.
