About me
I am a fully qualified psychotherapist and counsellor, accredited by the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy. My aim is to help you to understand your own feelings and to help stop those feelings from leading to destructive behaviour towards yourself and other people. My approach is straight-forward and effective. I use a wide range of psychotherapeutic techniques including short-term cognitive behavioural therapies and longer term psychodynamic techniques. I work with adults, couples and young people on an open-ended, or session limited basis.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a fully accredited by the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy as a psychotherapist and counsellor. I hold a masters degree in integrative psychotherapy and I have been working as a therapist since 2006. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
As well as working in private practice, I have provided workplace counselling services to large employers in Manchester city centre. I have also provided counselling and psychotherapy at a women’s centre and to young adults at a sixth form college.
Before I became a psychotherapist, I worked in human resources management for a range of public and private sector organisations. I am a mother of two and live in South Manchester.
Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

I normally see clients weekly. Appointments are for 50 minutes for individuals and 1 hour for couples.
My fees are £60 for individuals and £65 for couples.
I offer a 20 minute initial consultation free of charge and without commitment.
